2022年11月10日のPressでは、下記のような説明になっていた。

ここでは、MI300を導入するとは書いてありませんでした。

2023年2月9日のPressでは、下記のようになりました。

  • The installation will feature 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors and for the first time in an Atos-based European system, the upcoming AMD Instinct MI300A accelerator. The system will consist of ten BullSequana XH3000 racks with a total of 768 processor nodes of and 192 accelerator nodes and will be complemented with an IBM SpectrumScale storage solution. The CPU nodes will be delivered in the third quarter of 2023, with full installation of the GPU nodes expected in the first half of 2024.

    • 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors : 768 processor nodes : CPU nodes will be delivered in the third quarter of 2023
    • AMD Instinct MI300A accelerator : 192 accelerator nodes : GPU nodes expected in the first half of 2024

accelerator nodes には、MI300A。え、MI300A って何?。MI300ベースの何か?なんでしょうね。。。

通常 GPU node にも CPU が居ますが、ここでは MI300A のみ。MI300では、CPUコアが24コアあるので、別途CPUが要らないわけね。。。

We have a hard time believing that there will not be a free-standing, four-GPU package in the MI300 series, for those customers who want a discrete CPU linked to a discrete GPU. The rumor has been that the MI300 would cram four GPU chiplets onto a single package, offering at least 2X more throughput than the MI250X at double precision floating point. But Wang did not talk about that in his GPU presentation. But he did talk about the CDNA 3 architecture and what we presume is the base for the Instinct MI300.

とあります。つまり、MI300の3つのGPU die を 4つのGPU die にしたものの要求があり、それを MI300A にしたのか?
